Dear Dojo Director, Shihan, Sensei, Sempai, and Kohai,

The Canadian Kyokushin Karate Organization will present and cordially invites you to MAS OYAMA'S MEMORIAL CUP held on Saturday, April 07th, 2001, at Laurier Mc. Donald High School, in Montreal.

The knockdown competition will be opened to all styles for both the men and women's division. In addition, we will also have junior division ages 14-17 for both boys and girls.

It gives us great honor to mention that, present, will be top Kyokushin instructors and fighters from around the world.

++ Also in attendance guest of honor Kancho Matsushima of Japan, Director of the Kyokushin Karate Organization, and Saiko Shigeru Oyama, Chairman of the World Oyama Karate Organization.

The divisions are as follows:

ADULT ( Male):
Light weight :  160 lbs & under

Middle weight : 161-179 lbs

Heavy Weight : 180 lbs & over

ADULT ( Female):
Light weight :  110 lbs & under

Middle weight : 111 - 140 lbs

Heavy Weight : 141 lbs  & over

JUNIOR ( Male):
Light weight :  150 lbs & under

Middle weight : 151 lbs & over

JUNIOR ( Female):
Light weight :  140lbs & under

Middle weight : 141lbs & over

*** The tournament director reserves the right to unite divisions or divide them according to events.

RULES & REGULATIONS

FIGHTERS CHECK IN AND WEIGH-IN:

The weigh-in will be held Friday night between 6:00pm and 8:00pm at
Quality Hotel (conference room)
8100 Neuville Ave.

Junior Preliminaries

Consists of one (1) round of two (2) minutes with no extension.

Junior Finals

Consists of one (1) round of two (2) minutes with one (1) minute extension if necessary, two (2) extensions maximum.

*** Shin & Instep, and head gear are obligatory,
mouth piece and breast cup are permitted only.***

Adult Preliminaries

Consists of one (1) round of two (2) minutes with one (1) extension if necessary. Decision must be given.

Adult Finals

Consists of one (1) round of two (2) minutes with two (2) minute extension if necessary, with a maximum of two (2) extensions. If there is still no declared winner, a decision will be based upon the weight. The lighter of the two fighter by 10lbs will be declared the winner. If there still is no difference, one (1) final round of two (2) minutes will be held.
