Kancho Yoshikazu Matsushima was born on April 23, 1947

His training in Kyokushin Karate started at the Ikebukuro Sohonbu Dojo, located in Japan. Kancho Matsushima was and Instructor of the USA Army unit located in Asaka.

Kancho Matsushima appears in movies, television, and magazines, promoting Kyokushin Karate. He also was choose by Sosai Oyama  to appears on his famous Kyokushin book called "ADVANCED KARATE", to demonstrate Kyokushin techniques and Katas.

Kancho Matsushima, have been the Central Judge in the World Kyokushin Tournaments, and on many International Kyokushin tournaments around the world.

On 1989, Sosai Oyama present him with honors for his contribution to the Kyokushin Karate.

In the present he is in the President of the International Karate Organization Kyokushinkaikan (IKO 3)
