Qualification:
1) Holder of nationality of the participating team
2) One recommended by the National Taekwondo Association
3) Holder of the WTF or the Kukkiwon Dan Certificate and he/she should
bring Dan Certificate when registration for accreditation. |

Single Elimination Tournament System
2nd place in each weight category will be selected as the substitute
contestant for the case of any disqualification among the 1st winners due
to a breach of the Doping Regulations. |

Basic Criteria For Participation:
a. Each national Association may participate in maximum 2 male and 2
female weight categories out of 4 male and 4 female Olympic weight
categories with one contestant per weight category other than those ones
already qualified at Taekwondo Qualification Tournament (TQT) in Croatia.
However, the number of already qualified contestants shall be taken from
the maximum quota of 2 males and 2 females.
b. If a country has obtained a qualification of either male or
female division at TQT in Croatia, it can take part in only one weight
category of that division.
c. In this Tournament, total 4 male and 4 female contestants ranked 1st in
each weight category are to be qualified for the Sydney 2000 Olympic
Games. And the participating contestants should not be the ones who
have already been qualified at the TQT in Croatia.
d. Attribution of qualification: Along with the qualified weight
categories at the Taekwondo Qualification Tournament, those ones at this
regional Tournament are attributed to the pertinent national Association
(NOC) for participation in those categories of the Sydney Olympic Games.
e. Once a qualification in a certain weight category is obtained,
it cannot be changed to another in any case. |
Award Presentation:
1) Winners ranked 1st in each of 4 male and 4 female weight categories
will receive certificate of qualification. And contestants ranked 2nd in
each weight category will also receive a certificate of substitute.
2) Certificate of the qualified weight category for the Sydney 2000
Olympic Games will be presented to the pertinent national Association. |
Conditions for Participation:
1) Round trip airfare and accommodation charges of room and board
shall be borne by the participating National Association.
2) Entry fee of US$ 200 for male and female teams (irrespective of the
participating number of athletes) respectively shall be enclosed in the
entry forms. |
Entry:
1) Entry shall be submitted to the WTF Secretariat together with
the entry fee of US$200 per team (US$400 in case of participation of both
male and female team), not to the Organizing Committee, within the
deadline postmarked as of August 31, 1999, by registered mail or fax at
82.2.553.4728 in the prescribed entry form.
2) Any alteration of weight categories after the deadline shall NOT BE
ACCEPTED IN ANY CASE.
3) No entry will be accepted after the deadline. |
International Referees:
1) Required number of International Referees will be appointed by the
WTF.
2) Round trip airfare shall be borne by each participating International
Referee while 4 nights and five days' room and board (check-in on
September 7 and check-out on September 11, 1999 ) shall be covered the
Organizing Committee. |
WTF-Recognized Taekwondo Uniform (Dobok) and Protective
Equipment:
1) The participating contestant shall wear the WTF-recognized
Taekwondo uniform (Dobok).
2) The WTF recognized protective equipment of head protector, groin guard,
forearm and shin guards shall be brought by the participating contestants
for personal use.
3) Trunk Protector will be provided by the Organizing Committee
with four types of size for the four Olympic weight categories, and the
contestants shall wear the designated trunk protector of the pertinent
weight category.
4) Wearing of the WTF recognized Taekwondo uniform (Dobok) and protective
equipment will be checked at the inspection desk before entering into the
contest area, and any contestant wearing unrecognized Dobok or protective
equipment will not be permitted to compete.
5) Blue and red contestants shall wear blue and red head gear,
respectively. |
Medical Control:
1) Use of drugs or doping by any chemical substances described in the
WTF Regulation for Doping Control are strongly prohibited.
2) The WTF will carry out medical doping test to all the winners ranked
1st of each weight category, and any winner who refuses to undergo the
testing or who proves to have committed a breach of this regulation shall
be removed from the final standings with loss of qualification, and a
disciplinary action thereafter will be taken. In this case, the substitute
ranked 2nd in the pertinent weight category will be qualified.
3) The substitute contestants ranked 5th and 6th in each weight category
at the TQT in Croatia may participate in the same weight category at the
Regional Taekwondo Qualification Tournament in case the results on the
doping test will not come out till then. |
Others:
1) All contestants and officials participating in this Tournament will
receive a letter of participation co-signed by the WTF President and the
Chairman of the Organizing Committee.
2) Other arrangements for accommodation, local transportation, etc. will
be advised by the Organizing Committee in due course. |
