ABOUT
TAEKWONDO JUNIOR NATIONAL COMPETITIONS
If your children are
interested in competing on a nationals levels, then this information could be
useful to you, so you can understand better where your loves ones are going to
be involved, at the same time you can guide them in the right direction.
In the Junior National competitions your children would be competing according
to theirs age and their weight. The age for the competitors are between 10 and
17 years. Below there is a table which will help you to see in which division
your children would be competing.
Your children must be a black belt and have a certification from the Kukkiwon in
order to participate in this national event. Also your must have a copy of their
birth certificate, because you will have to attach it to the registration form.
In some provinces your children will have to participate in regional tournament
in order to qualify for the Junior National.
You must also want to take in consideration the expenses involve in this event :
- Registration fee (Around $50.00)
- Traveling expenses if the Competition is out of your city. (Airline tickets or
others, Accommodations, Food). Depending where you live from the host
city, it could easily add to $400 or $500 dollars.
The next Junior
National Competitions will be on Saturday and Sunday, July 1-2, 2000. It
is Organized by the Chung Won Institute of Taekwondo, in Moncton, New Brunswick.

TAEKWONDO CHAMPIONSHIPS
A copy of the Information Package will be in the mail by May 26th, 2000. In
the meantime, if you are planning to participate, please prepare for the
following requirements and some important deadlines that you need to know:
Competitor Eligibility:
1. Applicant must be a Canadian Citizen by June 15, 2000
2. Applicant must hold a Kukkiwon Poom/Dan Certificate
3. Applicant must pay annual athlete registration fee to Taekwondo Canada
4. Applicants must obtain the recommendation signature of his/her Master
Instructor, or the provincial association president in which he/she resides
5. Applicants for Sparring must have proof of participation in Provincial Team
Trials (only if the Province holds Team Trials)
