Subj:    Third Annual U.S. Kyokushin Open

Dear Shihan, Sensei, Sempai and competitor,

OSU!  I would like to take this opportunity to personally invite you to the Third Annual U.S. Kyokushin Open to be held on Saturday October 23rd, 1999 in South Paris, Maine.  Special guest this year is IKO President Kancho Matsushima.  Kancho Matsushima will also be given several clinics on Sunday, October 24th.  In addition to Kancho’s clinic, Shihan Tom Flynn will be giving a referee’s clinic on Saturday.  Shihan Flynn is one of the top referee’s outside of Japan.

Enclosed you will find directions to the tournament location.  Overseas fighters (outside of North America) who register before the deadline of October 1st will receive two days hotel accommodation free.

For competitors and guest who are flying into Maine make your reservations to arrive at one of the three following airports: Logan International (Boston), Manchester, New Hampshire or Portland Maine.  SouthWest airlines and U.S. Air offer great deals to the Manchester New Hampshire Airport.  As always, I will provide competitors and guest free transportations to and from the airports.

If you will be staying overnight you will need to make your reservations as soon as possible.  Lodging will be provided for by the Inn Town Motel. Call them directly to book your room.  Their number is: (207) 743-7706.  Mention my name and the tournament and you will receive a corporate rate of $35.00 per night.  It is very important that you make your reservations now. There is a very good chance that the motel will have no vacancy within the next month for the October 23rd weekend.  If you are unable to get a room at the Inn-Town Motel call me asap for alternative lodging.

There will also be a IKO Branch Chiefs meeting on Sunday, October 24th, 1999 at 9:00am.  Branch Chiefs that are attending are requested to send questions to be put on the agenda directly to me as soon as possible.

I look forward to seeing you at the tournament and if there is anything that I can do to help, please do not hesitate to contact me at the numbers above.

              Osu.
