Selection of the Japanese National Team
Japan is now busy with the preparations for the 7th World Tournament coming up in December this year.
The selection of the Japanese Team has begun, and this far, seven fighters have been selected. The remaining two members will be selected at the 16th Weight Division Tournament to be held on June 19, 20. It will be the number one and two from the heavy weight division.
The nine members of the Japanese team already classified are:
- Norichika Tsukamoto: Defending Champion of the 6th World Tournament
- Touru Okamoto: Champion of the 30th All Japan Tournament
- Tadashi Ishihara: 2nd place at the 30th All Japan Tournament
- Kunihiro Suzuki: 3rd place at the 30th All Japan Tournament
- Kou Tanigawa: 4th place at the 30th All Japan Tournament
- Kouji Abiko 6th place at the 30th All Japan Tournament
- Shigenori Sakamoto: 5th place at the 30th All Japan Tournament
- Yuichirou Osaka: Champion 16th All Japan weight Tournament heavy class
- Shinichi Sotodate: 2nd place at the 16th All Japan weight Tournament heavy class
