This Taekwondo Championships is hosted by Master Sonny Pabuaya, from Iron Fist Fist Tae Kwon Do. It is open to everyone who wish to participate under the rules of the World Taekwondo Federation (W.T.F.).  There will be competitors from the province of Manitoba and also from others provinces of Canada and the USA. You should not miss this event as it would be one of the biggest tournaments organized in Winnipeg. Come to watch and support your local athletes.  Below you can found all the information for this important event.

DIVISIONS

The divisions are as follows:

 WTF weight divisions

Note: The tournament director reserves the right to unite divisions or divide them according to events.
 

COMPETITOR ENTRY FEES  Events: Kyorugi & Poomse
$45.00 (Forty five Canadian Dollars) for 1 Event or $50.00 (Fifty Canadian Dollars) for both events
$10 late fee for applications received between May 7, 2005 and May 13, 2005.
 
REGISTRATION

All participants must All participants must be pre-registered. There will be no registrations accepted after May 13, 2005
Mail or fax registrations to Iron Fist Tae Kwon Do.
 

WEIGH IN All color belt competitors must weigh-in prior to 9:00 a.m. May 14, 2005 and
Black Belts by 12:00 p.m. May 14, 2005
 
COMPETITION RULES Current WTF Competition Rules
Single Elimination
Scoring: Ringmaster scoring systems of PATU with monitor displays
Match Duration:
Junior & Senior – Colored Belts: 2 rounds, 1 minute, 30 second rest between rounds
Junior – Black Belts: 2 rounds, 1.5 minutes, 45 second rest between rounds
Senior – Black Belts: 3 rounds, 1.5 minutes, 45 second rest between rounds
 
SAFETY EQUIPMENT All competitors must wear WTF approved dobuk and safety equipment
The sparring competitors are responsible for the following MANDATORY equipments:

·         headgear and chest protector

·         forearm guard and shin guard

·         groin protector

·         Mouth guards
 

AWARDS Medals/Trophies for all divisions
Awards presentation will be made at the completion of each division
FOOD SERVICES Concessions in the building will be open
OTHERS SERVICES For the competitors will be available Massage Therapy and Chiropractic
Equipment and Souvenirs will be on sale in the gym
